Amicus Strings
Amicus Strings was founded in 1996. Since that time, it has established a reputation for excellence in presentation, performance and customer relations, and is one of Adelaide’s busiest performing string quartets. In addition to providing music for weddings, corporate functions, parties and events, Amicus performs regularly in concert with repertoire ranging from Bach and Mozart to contemporary composers such as Philip Glass and Karl Jenkins. Amicus has performed for Recitals Australia, the “Tuesday on Flinders” series of concerts, ACME New Music Company, the Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus and the State Opera of South Australia, as well as in various music festivals and private functions. It has performed twice in the Mawson Lakes Planetarium, involving memorised performance in total darkness. It has undertaken a masterclass with the internationally acclaimed Brodsky Quartet, and was quartet in residence for Symphony Australia’s Westfield Young Conductor of the Year programme. Amicus has accompanied international artists including Elaine Paige OBE, and Aled Jones. In 2004, Amicus featured as the performing string quartet in the wedding episode of the Australian drama series “McLeod’s Daughters”. As a commercial quartet, Amicus has recorded sound tracks for numerous television commercials including Baker’s Delight, Bridgestone Tyres, Stratco, San Remo, Virginia Nursery, Arnott’s, the Government of South Australia, University of Australia, Jacob’s Creek and Beaurepaires. Amicus’ service to the bridal industry has been recognised with many awards in the Ceremony Music and Live Entertainment categories of the Australian Bridal Industry Awards for Excellence. They are in high demand playing at weddings, corporate functions and events, and in concert every year. As individual musicians, they are classically trained to the highest degree. Together as a quartet, they are dynamic and exciting players and pride themselves in delivering top quality performances.

Donuts may just be one of my love languages and I quite enjoy a great Shiraz on a Sunday, please feel free to pass on your red secrets. When I’m not at weddings you can find me checking the footy scores, walking the previously afore mentioned doggo or dreaming of another summer in Barcelona. Please call me Vic I love to have a laugh and I definitely don’t take myself too seriously. Anyone who knows me will tell you how much I enjoy a party. I have worked as many things, but being a Marriage Celebrant is by far my favourite role along with being the mother of two spirited little men and wife to my funny hubby Flanez (yes I refer to my husband by his nickname… it feels weird calling him Ryan as he was Flanez when I met him and is still my Flanez now). We live in Woodcroft, which is south of Adelaide. Day to day life is busy but very fulfilling, as I write ceremonies and meet a whole bunch of awesome new people every weekend. I have the wonderful job of celebrating love all year round and believe there is no better thing to celebrate as I am a hopeless romantic (you should see my movie collection – poor Flanez).
